Mayor of Sleaford's Initiatives:

May 2021 to May 2022

The Mayor of Sleaford for May 2021 to May 2022, Councillor Robert Oates, will announce his initiatives within the next few months. The information will be published here.

May 2020 to May 2021

The Mayor of Sleaford for May 2020 to May 2021, Councillor Anthony Brand, rasied money in order for more trees to be planted in our town.

Oak Tree saplings were available to purchase for £10.00 each, for people to grow in their garden. Each person purchasing a sapling received a certificate of authentification and thanks, together with helpful information sheets.

Alternatively, oak tree growing kits for £10.00 were available to purchase, meaning that people can watch an acorn grow into a tree.

Also available to purchase for £10.00 each were beautiful handprinted collagraphs mounted on fabric and hand cut oak leaf, inspired by the acorns hanging on the Tudor four poster bed at Gainsborough Old Hall.

The Mayor Spins a Yarn

The Mayor also raised money for his initiative by spinning wool in the Market Place during two of the Twelve Days of Christmas Markets in December 2020.

Visitors were invited to guess how much the Mayor could spin in length and weight during a certain amount of hours. Thank you to everyone who took part.
