Notification of Proposed Carriageway Works at Sleaford & Quarrington

Notification from Lincolnshire County Council

There are carriageway micro asphalt works proposed for the locations below within Sleaford/Quarrington that have been identified for this type of treatment. This is the same process recently completed at Ancaster Drive and surrounding streets.

Barnes Close, Lomax Drive, Stone Way, Chapman Road, Covel Road, Stokes Drive, Peregrine Close, Eagle Drive, Osprey Close, Kestrel Close, Hawks Way, Curlew Way, Thrush Close, Linnet Way, Robin Close, Clay Hill Road, Church Close, Glebe Close and Manor Road.

Micro asphalt surface treatment is a preventative maintenance treatment, used to seal the existing road surface, improve the texture and helps water evaporate. These locations are prime candidates for this type of treatment, for the fact that they require a more substantial approach than Surface Dressing but currently not deserving of a full reconstruction scheme.

The works are proposed for Monday 15th March for 5 days completed under a full road closure to complete the surfacing element and 5 days to raise the iron-works. Access to residents and businesses will be permitted but there will be inevitably periods of disruption. There will be a locally signed diversion route during the works.

Residents and businesses impacted will receive an advanced letter explaining the works w/c 1st March, with the contact details and engineer supervising these works on behalf of LCC. Advanced Signage will be erected on the same date.

The attached link from the Kielys (contractor for the works) gives a brief explanation of the process http://www.kielybros.co.uk/carriageway-solutions/microasphalt/
