Chairman and Mayor of Sleaford Town Council

Councillor Anthony Brand was elected as the Chairman and Mayor during the Annual Meeting of the Full Council held on 24th May 2023.

Councillor Brand represents the Westholme Ward.

In May 2020, Councillor Brand was elected as Chairman and Mayor of the Town Council. In May 2019, Councillor Brand was elected as Vice Chairman and Deputy Mayor of the Council.

Honoured to have been elected, Councillor Brand looks forward to working with the Vice Chairman, fellow Councillors and staff in the coming year.

The Mayor's chosen charity for 2023/2024 is Evergreen Sleaford.

Evergreen Sleaford aims to respond to the high demand for community-based opportunities for social contact amongst older people by providing a simple friendship. Each friendship is a commitment between one volunteer befriender and the service user. This is a free and confidential service, supporting senior citizens in making the most of their life experience into old age.

Each volunteer befriender commits to an hour or two each week. The time might be spent chatting, a shared activity in the home, a little trip out etc. Each friendship is unique. However, it is not intended to be a domestic, sitting, shopping or taxi service.

The scheme is operated throughout Sleaford and a surrounding 10 mile radius.

Councillor David Suiter was elected as the Vice Chairman and Deputy Mayor during the Annual Meeting of the Town Council held on 24th May 2023.

Councillor Suiter represents the Navigation Ward.

In May 2016, Councillor Suiter was elected as Chairman and Mayor of the Town Council.
