Cllr Edwards-Shea was first elected to the Town Council in a by-election in March 2018 and was re-elected to it at the elections held on Thursday 4th May 2023.

Cllr Edwards-Shea is a member of the Finance, Planning and Services committees of the Council as well as the Sleaford Castle Heritage Group Advisory Committee and the Neighbourhood Plan Sub-Committee of the Planning Committee. She is also one of the Council's two representatives to meetings of the Lincolnshire Association of Local Councils.
