Cllr Suiter was first elected to the Town Council in May 2003 and was re-elected to the Council at the elections held on 4th May 2023. At the Annual Meeting of the Council held on 24th May 2023 he was elected as the Vice-Chairman/Deputy Mayor of the Council for the 2023/2024 Council year.

Cllr Suiter is a member of the Finance, Human Resources, Planning and Srevices Committees of the Council and is the Vice-Chairman of the Human Resources Committee. He is also a member of the Neighbourhood Planning Sub-Committee of the Council.

In addition Cllr Suiter is one of two Council's nominees to the Board of Trustees of the Sleaford Unity Charity and is one of three Council representatives to meetings of the Sleaford Climate Action Network.
