Cllr Brand was elected to the Town Council at the elections held on Thursday 4th May 2023. At the Annual Meeting of the Council held on Wednesday 24th May 2023 he was elected Chairman and Town Mayor of the Council for the 2023-2024 Council year.

He is a member of the Finance Committee of the Council and its Chairman. In addition he is a member of the Sleaford Castle Advisory Committee of the Council
